How to Make and Measure 3/4 Teaspoon

Cooking is an art, and like all other forms of art, cooking is best done with passion and fondness. However, when nitty-gritty like 1/8th cup of flour and 2/3rd tablespoon of salt comes in, many lose motivation.

Not everyone has measuring cups and spoons, and to be fair, not everyone likes math enough to sit down and calculate the measurements. So, the question arises, how to make and measure these quantities, especially 3/4 teaspoon?

The easiest way to make and measure 3/4 teaspoons involves merely selecting one of three simple ways which include using your teaspoons or your hand. No need to fret, your cooking skills will improve, and your motivation will be back.

What is 3/4 teaspoon?

In precise measuring terms, ¾ teaspoon is approximately equal to ¼th of a tablespoon. You can also think of it as 4 milliliters. The easiest way to understand ¾ teaspoon is to think of it as ½ teaspoon and ¼ teaspoon combined.

Often, measuring spoon sets don’t have a ¾ teaspoon measuring utensil. Therefore, your best bet is to nail it yourself by using either of the methods listed here.

How to Make 3/4 Teaspoon?

Using a Teaspoon

  1. 3/4 of a teaspoon is equal to 2.25 teaspoons. So, when adding ¾ teaspoons of anything, first add half a teaspoon. Then, add a quarter of a teaspoon. The combination will give you ¾ teaspoon.
  2. Or, you can also take an ‘almost’ full teaspoon; greater than half but less than full and that will work as ¾ teaspoon.
  3. Another way is to add ¼ teaspoon 3 times; this is approximately equal to ¾ teaspoon.

Using your Hands

If you find it hard to use a teaspoon to make ¾ teaspoon accurately, you can rely on your hands. Pinch up the ingredient you want to add ¾ teaspoon of, between your index finger and thumb and add it to your recipe.

Do this six times to get the same amount of ingredient added as ¾ teaspoon. Of course, we don’t need to tell you not to use this method for liquids.

How to Make Half of 3/4 Teaspoon

Since ¾ teaspoon in itself is confusing to make and measure, the half of ¾ teaspoon is bound to be confusing to measure for cooks too. Don’t fret, because we have an easy way to do that as well.

How to Calculate Half of 3/4 Teaspoon?

To calculate half of a ¾ teaspoon, all you need to do is multiply ¾ with ½. So, that gives you ⅜ as the half of ¾ teaspoon.

How to make 3/8 Teaspoon?

For ⅜ teaspoon, which is half of ¾, you need a ⅛ teaspoon and a ¼ teaspoon.

Now, the easiest way to get ⅛ teaspoon is to take a pinch with your index and middle finger. One pinch will be enough.

Then, for ¼ either cup your hands together and add the ingredient in the center to make a nickel-sized mound. Or, take two pinches using your index and middle finger.

And, voila, these are the easiest ways to not only make and measure ¾ teaspoon but also the half of ¾ teaspoon. So, what are you waiting for? Get cooking.
