The TIG process is slow

Using Both hands simultaneously

Preparing the Metal

Unlike MIG and Stick welding, TIG needs properly cleaned metal without mill scale and oil. However, the TIG arc is breakable and unfit to spike through the mill scale. Thus, mill-scale will remain weak through the TIG welding process.

In the absence of metal preparations, you may practice TIG applications by using an angle grinder paired with other attachments. Because of this, all paint, mill scale, and other aseptic will be removed.

It is easier to apply TIG on clean metals. Plus, extra prep hours add more value to a project. For example, when planning a fabrication job with TIG, it would be best to clean and prep every metal joint.

Looking at cost

TIG welding costs more than other types like Stick and MIG welding. Its essentials like torch, consumables, and argon gas get pricey.

Freshers may go for a more affordable welding method. Other accessories like rods, machines, leads, grounds, and stingers are more attainable than TIG essentials. Although TIG welding is one of the best forms of welding, it is a process not quickly learned by a fresher.
