Can Star Wars Clones Reproduce?

Star Wars is a long-running franchise that has a cult following and fans are extremely passionate about it. However, since the franchise is massive, there are tons of questions – some answered while others are still unanswered. One such question is “can Star Wars clones reproduce?” Look no further because we have the answer right here!

While the Star Wars canon doesn’t have a lot of evidence to back this up, there are a few instances where we can see that clones can, in fact, reproduce.

If you want to know more, worry not because we will explain and show you all the instances where it is proven that clones can reproduce. While there are a few moments where it is clear that clones can reproduce, we will only take a look at the canon material. Canon means that it is accepted by the creator. With that said, let’s get started.

Sconto Claims His Father Was a Clone Trooper

Force Collector is a Star Wars novel that is canon. In it, there is a junk shop merchant on Utapau that claims his father was a clone trooper. While there is no other evidence of Sconto’s father being a clone trooper, we have to go with his word.

Even though there are minor inconsistencies with the overall canon of the show in the novel, it is considered canon. Since it is canon, we can assume that clones can reproduce without any issues.

Clone Wars Further Backs This Up

If you are not convinced yet, worry not because we’ve got another example where the show showed us that clones can reproduce. In the animated show, The Clone Wars, a runaway clone left the army because he felt that it was not worth it. This clone is named Cut Lawquane.

When we see him in his house, we can clearly see that he has two children. He married a Twi’lek, and as such, his children both are human/Twi’lek hybrids. Plus, it is made clear to the viewers that Lawquane is a clone because when Rex finds out, he gets angry but later accepts it and appreciates that his family helped him.

Also, it is important to keep in mind that The Clone Wars animated show is considered canon and is a crucial part of the entire saga. As such, we have to accept that clone troopers can reproduce.

You can watch the entire scene between Rex and Cut in this video:

Parting Words

As aforementioned, there aren’t a lot of instances in the canon that explicitly shows us if clones can reproduce or not. However, the instances mentioned above are from the canon material (whether novels or animated shows) and it shows that clone troopers have children of their own. If you know a Star Wars fan, share this knowledge with them as well!
